I can’t believe it’s almost 2018!

Seriously, where did this year go? Now I know what sleeping beauty felt like because I feel like I must have slept through a few months! Well, minus the evil witch, handsome prince …. and kisses!

There was so much stuff I planned to do this year, but none of it got done! I made new year resolutions, the normal stuff like losing weight, and set goals, and none of them got done! I’m not going back to school (one of my goals), I’m still eating Oreos on the reg, and please don’t get me started about the White Chocolate Raspberry pancakes we have at work!

Years have always gone by quick, but damn, they go flying past when you have kids! The past years been a whirlwind of Doctor appointments, potty training, emergencies, messes, crafts, tripping over toys, and more messes!

I wonder if all parents feel this way?

Is there a point where we all wake up and realize we are living fully for our children! Don’t get me wrong, I love being a Mom! However, looking back on all of the things I didn’t do this year makes me realize I just didn’t have time to do it! Not while trying to be a half decent parent!

I’m not complaining though!

There will come a time, in the not so distant future, when my children won’t want to cuddle with me on the couch. I will be able to sit down with my computer and possibly take classes online without a little body climbing across the keyboard. Wriggling around, trying to get comfortable, before I decide to just put it away because cuddling sounds so much better!

There will be a day when I won’t have to run around behind them with a broom and dustpan because they won’t want to play with toys anymore. I’m going to eventually miss those days! Not at first …. let’s not lie to ourselves …. at first I am going to throw a damned party, in a clean house! After that, I will miss it.

So while I don’t want my kids to grow up any quicker, I would like the days to slow down just a little bit, because I’m quickly coming up on a birthday …. and umm … thirty is a big one people!
